Charlotte, N.C. — No.14 Ardrey Kell advanced to 4-1 on the season after the Knights beat Independence 64-59 on Tuesday night.

Both teams went back and forth early on in Tuesday’s non-conference matchup. Ardrey Kell would take the slight 18-17 advantage at the end of the first eight minutes of play.

Independence would get some help in the second quarter, thanks to an impressive shooting effort by Divine Allah and Jalen Hinton. The Patriots closed out the first half with an Anthony Allen layup at the buzzer, cutting the Knights‘ lead to just one point.

Ardrey Kell would respond in the third quarter by going on a 13-6 run, led by Luke Stankavage and Peyton Gerald. Independence kept things close in the fourth quarter, but failed to sink some late opportunities.
