Speaking to German publication Express, he confirmed his era as Bond was really over, saying: ‘Yes – in the future someone else has to do it.’

Speculation over who could replace Craig as the secret agent is already rife, with Idris Elba, Richard Madden, James Norton, Tom Hardy, Aidan Turner and Riz Ahmed all tipped as potential contenders for the role.

Who is in the cast of No Time To Die?

Craig is joined in the cast by Bohemian Rhapsody Oscar winner Rami Malek as the film’s main villain – and potential victim

– following Bond’s retirement in 2015’s Spectre.
